ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH – ELK HUNT

My recent trip to the Rocky Mountains in pursuit of a bull elk was quite an adventure. For my second do-it-yourself elk hunt, we base-camped at 10,500 feet in the Rio Grande National Forest. The elk were not cooperating, but we saw a TON of mule deer (of course we did not have a permit for those). But we hunted on horseback, ate like kings, and had a great hunt.
