FUN IN FOND DU LAC, WI
I recently had the opportunity to spend a few days in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. As host for the 2013 Conference for the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers, Fond du Lac, located on the south end of Lake Winnebago, didn’t disappoint. Before the conference, I got out on the water to find out what Lake Winnebago would produce. Walleye, white bass, and perch were all willing to play. I also boated a huge 12-pound drum that was a blast to catch. I still went home and fried up some of the bounty from Lake Winnebago.
Our friends at the Fond du Lac Convention & Visitors Bureau did a spectacular job of showing us what Fond du Lac is all about. They have a beautiful waterfront with historic attractions, a lighthouse, and cool playgrounds for the kids. And for us in Northern Illinois, Fond du Lac is a stone’s throw away, just a few hours north.
Winnebago is also renowned for it’s world-class ice fishing and sturgeon spearing. So put this on your list of places to go this year. Get more info and plan your trip HERE.
