There is nothing better than fresh walleye. This recipe is nothing new, but it’s simple, easy and delicious. We like cubing the filets into bite sized nuggets and deep frying them. They work great as a side dish for a ribeye steak. They are even great cold or on a sandwich, if they make it to the next day. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 2 Fresh walleye filets
- 3 Cup Kellogg’s Corn Flake Crumbs
- 2 Teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
- 3 Fresh eggs
- Half Cup Milk
- 1 Liter Vegetable oil
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
Cooking instructions:
- Cut walleye filets into one-inch cubes
- Scramble the eggs and milk in a bowl, and drop in the walleye chunks
- Preheat the oil in a deep fryer to 350 degrees
- Mix the corn flake crumbs and old bay seasoning into a bowl
- Remove the walleye from the egg mixutre and dredge in the crumb mixture.
- Fry the walleye in the oil until they float (about 4-5 minutes)
- Remove from oil and place on paper towel to drain, then serve.
