The Northwoods of Minnesota is one of my favorite places to fish. I think my sons Logan and Kyle would agree. Neither of them had ever caught a fish with real teeth, like walleye. So for our summer trip, we chose Lake Mille Lacs to go for giant smallmouth bass and walleye.  Instead of hearing the classic “You should have been here last week”, all I heard was “Fish on!” In three days we boated over 60 walleyes and close to 30 football-sized smallies. For their first time catching walleye, I fear this may have set the bar pretty high for future trips.
