Lemon-Dill Broiled Walleye

This baked dish calls for fresh walleye smothered in a lemon butter sauce with fresh dill from the garden. It takes about 5 minutes to make the sauce and another 15 to bake. With no heavy batter or breading, this is a great way to enjoy fresh walleye.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 Butter
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Corn starch
  • 1/2 Cup Chicken broth
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Finely shredded lemon peel
  • 2 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tablespoon Snipped fresh dill
  • 2 walleye filets

Cooking instructions:

  1. In small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat
  2. Stir in cornstarch
  3. Stir in chicken broth until well combined
  4. Cook and stir frequently until thick and bubbly, about 5-6 minutes.
  5. Stir another 2 minutes and stir in lemon peel, lemon juice, and dill
  6. Lay walleye filets in a baking dish
  7. Pour the lemon-dill sauce over the filets
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes
  9. Remove from oven and serve
